WSET Level 1 Award in Wines
A beginner level introduction to wine appropriate for those who have an interest in wine or are starting a career in hospitality.
For people who are new to wine; this qualification delivers a hands-on overview of the world of wine. You’ll explore the main types and styles of wine through all the senses, sight, smell, and taste. You will also gain the basic skills and tolls to be able describe wines, as well as making simple food and wine pairings. Once you have successfully completed this course you will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin.

Course Delivery
This qualification has a minimum requirement of six hours of study time, in a classroom or online, with a WSET course provider.*WSET Level 2 Award in Wines
A beginner to intermediate level qualification appropriate for those exploring wines and spirits who are working in the industry or wine and spirit enthusiasts.
For people who are seeking a fundamental understanding of wines, this qualification will explore the major grape varieties and key wine growing regions. You will study about the styles of wines produced from these grapes as well as key classifications and labelling terminology. A basic summary of the key categories of spirits and liqueurs will also be provided. Once you have successfully completed this course, you will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin, and will be able to use the associated WSET certified logo.

- What factors can influence style of the wine
- Overview and characteristics of the key white and black grape varieties
- The important wine-producing regions of the world in which these grapes are grown
- How sparkling, sweet, and fortified wines are produced
- Label terminology
- Advanced food and wine pairing

- How to describe wine using the WSET Level 2 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine®
